HOW WE WORK

WE WORK SMART

The design concept—space planning, color palette, fabrics, fixtures, finishes, etc.—is only 10% of our work. Making sure the other 90% is completed with as little stress and headache for you is the real job.

With more than two decades of project management experience across a variety of industries, my assistant, Sarah and I have instituted our own innovative business systems and best practices into the traditional interior design model. These systems are:

  • Streamlined operations to simplify the design process

  • Budget and product tracking technologies

  • An established estimating and billing structure which ensures that there are no “unexpected” invoices or additional charges.

WHICH DETAILS MATTER MOST?

Every designer will tell you that they pay close attention to design details, but just as important is to pay close attention to the day-to-day processes and procedures that need to be followed on every project, no matter the size. Mark Design is known for our passion for these details, and our homeowners have consistently praised us for our follow through.

I will forever be thankful for the outstanding design Mark Design created for my new home.
Working with them was an absolute pleasure. Mark is a great listener and quickly internalizes information. At times, I almost thought he was “reading my mind”. He’s also an excellent communicator – prompt, clear, and effective. And to top it all off, he makes the process fun.
Mark is my “hero”. He listened to my “dreams” and made them a reality. I am in awe of his talent and so very thankful. I cannot recommend them strongly enough.
— Cheryl Johnston, December 2023
Mark’s calm easy-going demeanor and straightforward, honest communication style made us feel confident that we could trust him and that he had our best interests in mind. He always made us feel as though we were his priority and answered all our questions, be they via email, text or telephone, in a timely manner.

LIVING THE PROCESS

Designing beautiful spaces is only one part of the job.

Because we truly love the entire process, we are just as passionate about the creative aspects of the work as we are about purchasing, deadlines, relationships, production and installation. This translates to better relationships with the vendors, subcontractors, builders and teams who are working on your project.

YOU ARE PART OF THE PROCESS

As our client, you are involved every step of the way.

  • Itemized budgets are provided on your design presentation date

  • Detailed estimates are provided before the purchasing process begins

  • Decisions and purchases are only made upon your approval

  • We present and follow an estimated project budget

  • We regularly submit project status reports

  • A detailed hourly tracking report is provided every month with your billing

We hired Mark to help us with our new home in Denver. He listened very carefully to what we wanted, looked through our idea books, and came up with a plan that we would never have thought of. His work is beautiful, and he adheres closely to the budget. What we most appreciated was how pleasant, collaborative and down-to-earth he is. All of the contractors that came to work on our place clearly had a lot of respect for Mark and always enjoyed working with him. A few even said he was the “best designer” they knew. We will definitely be working with Mark again, and can’t wait to see the magic he comes up with!
